Tonight when all is quiet and still,
When silvery moonbeams fall on my window seal
And children by their bedsides kneel
Whispering childlike prayers, telling heaven how they feel
I will look to my side,
And not finding you
Look out at the star studded skies,
and the fireflies-
the little lights in the distance
Inklings of hope in my darkest night.
Loaded, like my smile through teary eyes.
Tonight when all is quiet and still,
I will fall apart and then I will heal.
When silvery moonbeams fall on my window seal
And children by their bedsides kneel
Whispering childlike prayers, telling heaven how they feel
I will look to my side,
And not finding you
Look out at the star studded skies,
and the fireflies-
the little lights in the distance
Inklings of hope in my darkest night.
Loaded, like my smile through teary eyes.
Tonight when all is quiet and still,
I will fall apart and then I will heal.

Tonight when all is quiet and still, I will fall apart and then I will heal...
Healing always comes after. Sorrow may endure for a night, but joy cometh with the morning...
i will fall apart and then i will heal

God listens to everything, you can count on him when there is no one else to count on.. Dry your eyes cos joy comes in the morning.
great poem!
I see fireflies are to be found in your poems too. I find your poetry and your prose quite elegant also. Thanks, Scotchbiscuit for appreciating my own little literary steps. We creep, we walk, we hope to fly and do when grace picks us up.
